NEW MEMBER INVITATION MEETING
~ Online Event ~

Date: Thursday, February 3, 2022
Time: 6:30 p.m. Central Time

Curious about GLMUA membership? Greater Lake Michigan Urantia Association invites all service-minded students of The Urantia Book to attend our New Member Meeting, where you will learn about the services that GLMUA provides to the people in the Lake Michigan region and the service opportunities we help create for our members. In this meeting you will gain an understanding of our purpose and mission and how we fit into Urantia Association International. Becoming an active member of GLMUA opens the door to opportunities for serving regionally, nationally, and internationally.

You’ve likely been receiving emails about events hosted by Greater Lake Michigan Urantia Association for some time now, perhaps you are even a regular participant at those events, but we realize that you may have questions about exactly what GLMUA is and how it fits into the wider Urantia community. We would like to create a space for you to ask any questions that you have about who we are and what we do, as well as how membership serves the community and offers opportunities to the individual.

Please join us at GLMUA’s New Member Meeting, to be held on Zoom this February 3, at 6:30 Central time (7:30 Eastern). If you are curious about membership, this is your opportunity to learn more. Current members who want a refresher on the organization may also attend. GLMUA primarily serves Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin, but people from other nearby states are welcome to join. Attending the meeting is not a commitment to join.

I’d like to share with you a metaphor: Change comes in waves. There is an “under-the-surface current” that eventually rises, crests and plunges, rushing up onto the shore and bringing with it any new ideas, beliefs, practices, or attitudes that are valuable enough to be picked up by beachgoers. Healthy regional organizations like GLMUA are critical for ensuring that when a wave comes, there are locals who can arrange for events and referrals to bring people together, and there are ways to help people gain needed leadership experience.

I am grateful to GLMUA for supporting me in my own development and for creating a welcoming community. I hope that you will share in that experience with us.

In loving service,
Alice Wood, president

Whether you have made the choice to step up to the next level of service for this revelation, or if you are unsure about becoming a member at this time, you are most welcome to come and learn about our organization which serves the people of our area and develops local leaders who go on to host study groups, organize gatherings, and educate people about the book’s teachings. Come serve with us! Be part of our team as we lift up this world together—all at the same moment.

“One of the most important lessons to be learned during your mortal career is teamwork. The spheres of perfection are manned by those who have mastered this art of working with other beings. Few are the duties in the universe for the lone servant. The higher you ascend, the more lonely you become when temporarily without the association of your fellows.” 28:5.14 (312.1)
