WELCOME TO GROWING TOGETHER!

After a season of successful meetings beginning in early January 2021, Greater Lake Michigan Urantia Association is pleased to announce that attendees expressed their interest in continuing the Growing Together experience.

JULIA KELLY SMITH has agreed to assume the leadership of Growing Together for the next year, beginning on July 7th, 2022.

We invite you to join us for a new year of Growing Together where participants will share in a commitment to each other in achieving personal goals that bring truth, beauty, and goodness to their lives and the lives of others.

In our first meeting we will spend some time to get to know one another and select our yearly goals. In meetings thereafter, we will share our personal success stories, experiences, and problems with our new Growing Together group!

DATE: We will be meeting on Thursday, July 7th, 2022
TIME: from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. Central Time.

Future Meetings are scheduled for the following dates:

• July 7, 2022
• October 6, 2022
• January 5, 2023
• April 6, 2023
• July 6, 2023

What goals are you currently pursuing—or considering?

In 2021, the Greater Lake Michigan Urantia Association created an energetic and productive support and discussion group called Growing Together. Participants committed to choosing goals for the year related to truth, beauty, and goodness—and meeting every three months to talk about those goals and the steps they were taking toward them. There were challenges. There was progress. There was growth. So we’re doing it again—starting in July!

In Growing Together’s first year, friendships were formed and deepened, insights gained, and the usefulness of having deadlines and accountability partners appreciated. Some goals were achieved while some participants enjoyed getting closer to their goals without fully accomplishing them. Now, GLMUA president Alice Wood is expanding Growing Together by assisting other regional Urantia associations start their own Growing Together groups. Julia Kelly Smith will facilitate GLMUA’s 2022-2023 group, helping participants share and draw meaning from their goals, growth, and experiences.

Goals related to truth, beauty, and goodness cover a wide range of activities and pursuits:

• Joining a study group.
• Reading more deeply or regularly.
• Spending time in nature.
• Enjoying art, poetry, theater alone and with others.
• Taking a course with other students of The Urantia Book.
• Learning new worship songs or how to play them (or anything) on an instrument.
• Volunteering at a local food pantry.
• Tutoring.
• Writing.
• De-cluttering.
• Building something beautiful.
